1.Does Dr. LePine accept insurance?

Dr. LePine does not accept insurance. Unfortunately, the multi-dimensional Functional Medicine approach that Dr. LePine uses to look at nutritional, metabolic, hormonal, toxic and genomic influences on a patient’s health is not recognized by our current Disease/Drug Insurance Model, and hence his time and expertise are not reimbursed commensurately.  He will be happy to send you an invoice that you can submit to your insurance, but he does not fill out insurance forms nor submit insurance forms.  Having a Health Savings Account is an excellent way for a patient to be able to utilize Dr. LePine’s services.  

2.What types of medical conditions does Dr. LePine treat?

Dr. LePine treats many chronic health problems such as weight loss resistance, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndromes, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory conditions, mood disorders, memory problems, along with many other health conditions which don’t fit neatly into a simple diagnosis. Dr. LePine can help you to optimize your health and vitality for maximum mental & physical performance. Dr LePine also can give you support for the prevention of heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and premature aging.

3.What type of testing does Dr. LePine do?

Dr. LePine does directed testing based upon the unique circumstances of individual patients. This includes both conventional lab tests such as kidney & liver function testing,hormone testing, complete blood count, lipid testing, etc. In addition Dr. LePine does advanced laboratory testing to uncover hidden imbalances within the body. The advanced laboratory testing Dr. LePine utilized can measure amino acids, fatty acids, vitamin and mineral levels. In addition metabolic markers for oxidative stress, mitochondrial function, food allergies, and toxins can also be tested.

4.How many visits will I have with Dr. LePine?

The frequency of follow-ups will depend on the nature of your health issues.
 Dr. LePine finds that most people see significant improvement after 2-3 visits or 3 months.
 If you have an autoimmune disease, cancer, severe toxicity, or another complex medical condition, your healing process will likely take longer than 3 months depending upon your unique circumstances.

5.Will Dr. LePine review my outside records and labs?

Dr. LePine is glad to review outside records and labs to help gather relevant medical data. This review can be done beforehand or during the consultation with Dr. LePine. The amount of time it takes is deducted from the consultation time, so with more outside medical records to review please plan for a longer consultation. In addition, Dr. LePine prefers all outside records be in digital PDF format.

6.Does Dr. LePine see children?

Dr. LePine is board certified in Internal Medicine and only consults with patients who are 13 years or older.
